1st October 2026 – BlueScientific is expanding its analytical portfolio with TOFWERK, a Bruker company, bringing high-resolution Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (TOFMS) solutions to customers across the UK, Ireland, Benelux and the Nordics.
The addition of TOFWERK introduces a powerful new analytical capability to the BlueScientific portfolio: real-time, high-sensitivity chemical analysis. By delivering immediate insight into complex chemical processes, TOFWERK helps researchers and industry professionals make faster, more informed decisions across environmental, industrial, and scientific applications.
It complements our existing Bruker solutions for elemental analysis, spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and X-ray microscopy. While these techniques provide insight into elemental composition, molecular and crystalline structure, or internal 3D morphology, TOFWERK enables users to observe and understand dynamic chemical processes in real time, helping them identify, quantify and respond to chemical change as it occurs.
New Possibilities for Air Quality Monitoring
Air Quality Monitoring is one of the first key application areas for the TOFWERK portfolio.
The Vocus technology (CI and B Series) helps researchers and environmental professionals identify, quantify and track trace gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in real time, providing the information needed to understand emissions, investigate emerging contaminants and make informed decisions faster. Applications include atmospheric chemistry, environmental monitoring, emissions monitoring, process control, regulatory compliance, PFAS investigations, and air toxics monitoring.
The mipTOF extends these capabilities to airborne particles, helping users characterize trace metals and toxic elements for air toxics investigations, source attribution, environmental research and regulatory monitoring efforts.
Together, these technologies provide researchers, industrial users, and regulatory agencies with a more complete understanding of atmospheric chemistry. Beyond identifying what is present in the air, they reveal how chemical composition evolves over time, helping users track emission sources, assess environmental impact, and better understand complex atmospheric processes.
“We are delighted to announce this new partnership, which enables BlueScientific to offer TOFWERK’s high-performance, compact Time-of-Flight mass spectrometers (TOF-MS) to our customers across the UK, Ireland, Nordics, and Benelux regions.
By integrating TOFWERK’s leading TOF-MS platforms with our advanced scientific distribution network, we are aligning two organizations dedicated to analytical excellence. Our partnership with Bruker has been well-established since Blue Scientific’s founding in 2013, and the TOFWERK product line is a highly complementary addition to our existing Bruker portfolio.”
Enhancing Food, Flavour & Fragrance Research and Production
Food, Flavour & Fragrance is the second key application area for the TOFWERK portfolio.
The Vocus technology helps researchers and manufacturers better understand complex volatile chemical mixtures, enabling deeper insight into aroma and flavour development, food quality, contamination investigations and production processes.
Applications include spray drying, supercritical CO₂ extraction, fermentation, bioreactors, roasting and other industrial processes where continuous chemical insight can support product quality, accelerate process optimisation and improve operational understanding.
By adding TOFWERK to its portfolio, BlueScientific extends its analytical offering with a unique capability: the ability to monitor chemical changes as they happen. This empowers users to gain deeper process understanding, respond more quickly to changing conditions, and make decisions with greater confidence.
