Details
The S2 PUMA Series 2 with a single-position manual loading enjoys the same technical benefits as the S2 PUMA Series 2 XY Autochanger and S2 PUMA Series 2 Carousel.
It delivers a simple sample handling mechanism for low sample volumes and can be fitted with the fast HighSense™ detectors and the ergonomic TouchControl™.
Without the touchscreen, it can be controlled remotely or via an external PC using the instrument control software SPECTRA.ELEMENTS.
High Performance for Small Sample Batches
- High power 50 Watt X-ray tube and 10-position automatic filter changer for optimal sample excitation
- HighSense detectors: Bruker’s next-generation silicon drift detectors (SDD) with super high count rates and excellent energy resolution for short measurement times
- Convenient and fail-safe sample handling
Easy Operation and Shortest Training Time
- Intuitive TouchControl software enables anybody to run the system after a short introduction (9 languages available)
- Integrated glove-friendly touchscreen display allows routine operation without an external PC
The S2 PUMA Series 2 with mapping-stage makes multi-spot quality monitoring an easy task. It lets you quantify the elemental composition of your sample or even the thickness of a coating with high accuracy and spatial resolution (down to 1 mm). The linear motion-drive positions the sample precisely and reproducible. The actual position can be recorded with an integrated HD camera.
The mapping stage extends the application range of the S2 PUMA Series 2 into semiconductors and coatings, where spatial resolution is required.
Inserts for various sample sizes are available, ranging from 40 mm to 152 mm in diameter. Customized inserts are available on request.
Key Benefits
- Measure material homogeneity and/or coating thickness
- Small and large samples – up to 152 mm in diameter
- Collimator masks for spot sizes from 1 to 34 mm
- High-precision linear stage for accurate positioning
- Integrated HD camera for automated image collection
XY Autochanger
WDXRF sample handling on a benchtop EDXRF unit – the S2 PUMA Series 2 XY Autochanger is equipped with a 20-position sample tray and sample grabber with liquid sample detection.
The instrument is ideal for larger sample volumes at a production line, where the S2 PUMA Series 2 can be operated with the integrated user-friendly TouchControl™ touchscreen.
Sample Handling
- Autonomous analysis of up to 20 samples
- Sample type and order can be changed at any time, even during a measurement
- Trays with other sample batches can be exchanged during an analysis
Power and Speed
- The direct-excitation beam path makes full use of the 50 Watt power
- New HighSense™ silicon drift detectors (SDD) with ultra-high count rates and excellent energy resolution
Instrument Protection
- SampleCare™ ensures that vital instrument components are protected
- Smart-UPS: In case of a power outage, delicate samples are retrieved from the sample chamber before safely shutting down the system
Automation
The only benchtop EDXRF which can professionally be integrated into fully automated laboratories. The S2 PUMA Series 2 Automation delivers results on elemental analysis 24/7. The instrument can be connected either via a conveyor belt or robot arm link-up to the preparation module. The sample feed interface is at the instrument’s backside so that the XY Autochanger capabilities remain fully available. Buffer positions inside the instrument, in addition to the EasyLoadTM XY tray, ensure smooth handling of automated and out-of-line samples at any time.
The HD camera can be used for sample verification: Samples in automation rings run overnight are often not available any more in the morning when staff returns. As a helpful validation tool, the pictures taken automatically by the camera can help to identify e.g. a failed sample surface and thus provide valuable information to clarify suspicious analysis results.
The LIMS-compatible instrument can communicate through Bruker’s dedicated AXSCOM software package with process control units and ensures full integration into existing or new laboratory environments.
