Details
Widefield O-PTIR offers significantly faster imaging speeds, up to 50 times quicker than standard O-PTIR. It provides quick single IR wavenumber imaging in under 1-10 seconds and hyperspectral IR imaging in minutes, achieving measurement speeds of up to 5 frames per second for dynamic single-frequency chemical imaging.
Previously, autofluorescence was a major interference in vibrational spectroscopy using Raman and fluorescence microscopy. However, with Widefield O-PTIR™, autofluorescence becomes an advantage, enhancing sensitivity and enabling label-free chemical imaging for a wide range of biological samples.
In experiments where fluorescence labeling is undesirable or autofluorescence is absent, the sub-500nm O-PTIR technique offers a unique ability to perform true label-free chemical imaging. This approach leverages inherent chemical contrast by directly detecting macromolecules such as proteins (including their secondary structures), lipids, nucleic acids, carbohydrates, and more.
