It’s now possible to detect and map super light elements down to carbon with micro-XRF. This is a world first for the new Bruker M4 TORNADOPLUS, which also offers twice the throughput compared to standard systems and a new Aperture Management System for enhanced depth of field and resolution.
Blue Scientific is the official distributor for Bruker Micro-XRF in the UK, Ireland and Nordic region (Norway, Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Denmark). For more information or quotes, please get in touch.

Bruker M4 TORNADOPLUS
The new Bruker M4 TORNADOPLUS is the world’s first micro-XRF spectrometer that can detect and analyse of the entire element range from carbon to americium. Previously it was not possible to detect light elements, but with the new system you can measure and map super light elements down to carbon.
The M4 TORNADOPLUS is the latest system in Bruker’s market-leading M4 TORNADO series of micro-XRF analysers. It builds on established technology, with added features including:
- Innovative aperture management system
- Enhanced depth of field
- Ideal for samples with topography
- Ultra-high throughput pulse processor
- Quick-change sample stage
