Webinar: Bruker PeakForce SECM (Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy)

Bruker Webinar:
PeakForce Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy (SECM)

Thursday 8th September 2016, 8:00 AM PDT / 4pm UK time

Join Bruker for a webinar introducing a new nanoscale electrochemical measurement mode: PeakForce Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy (SECM).

This is the first complete commercial solution for AFM-based SECM, with a spatial resolution less than 100 nanometers for electrochemical mapping. The new mode is powered by Bruker’s PeakForce tapping. For the first time, information about electrochemical activity, conductivity (in liquid) and quantitative nanomechanical properties can be acquired simultaneously.

Probes are a crucial element in AFM-based SECM, and are batch-fabricated by Bruker to ensure consistently high-quality nanoelectrodes. The webinar will cover the probes’ performance, ease of use and lifespan, with a range of examples.

B and C show quantitatively 700 pN and 108 pA differences in adhesion force and electrochemical current, respectively, between the Au and SAM regions. Image courtesy of A. Mark and S. Applications

PeakForce SECM opens the door to new R&D opportunities in:

  • Biological systems
  • Energy devices such as batteries
  • Catalysis
  • Corrosion
